Scrubgrass Township, PA – Rear-End Crash on Interstate 80 East (September 4, 2026)

A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, left one driver with a suspected minor leg injury on the afternoon of Thursday, September 4, 2026, according to a crash report released by Pennsylvania State Police at the Franklin station.

Troopers reported that the collision happened at about 5:09 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near mile marker 39.7. Two vehicles, a 2016 Ford Fusion and a 2019 Ford Escape, were traveling east, one directly behind the other. According to the report, the driver of the Escape slowed for traffic ahead, and the Fusion struck the rear of the Escape.

The driver of the Fusion, a 47-year-old man from Lake City, was reported to have suspected minor injuries to his leg and declined transport by emergency medical services at the scene. The driver of the Escape, a 31-year-old woman from Parker, and two juvenile passengers traveling with her were reported uninjured. Police said all occupants were using appropriate safety equipment.
