A two-vehicle crash on Route 322 in Clay Township, Lancaster County, left one driver dead on the morning of November 6, 2026. Northern Lancaster County Regional Police said the crash was reported around 6 a.m. near the intersection of West Main Street and Rock Road, prompting a large emergency response.

According to police, a pickup truck and another vehicle collided, leaving both vehicles with significant damage; one vehicle came to rest perpendicular to the roadway while the other was found in a nearby front yard. One of the drivers, a 34-year-old Berks County man, was transported to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Emergency crews reported heavy entrapment at the scene and made multiple rescue attempts before freeing those involved, and smoke was reported coming from one of the vehicles during the response.

More than a dozen fire, police and EMS units responded to the crash. Route 322, also known as West Main Street, was closed in both directions between Clay School Road and Rock Road for several hours while crews cleared the scene and investigators documented the collision. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reported that the roadway reopened to traffic shortly before noon.

A dense fog advisory was in effect across much of south-central Pennsylvania at the time of the crash. Northern Lancaster County Regional Police said the crash remains under investigation, and the exact sequence of events leading to the collision had not been released as of this report.

A full crash report will be available from the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department once the investigation is complete. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the department directly.
