Chambersburg, PA – E-bike rider injured in collision with vehicle on Crottlestown Road (October 25, 2026)

A rider on an electric bicycle was seriously injured Sunday evening after a crash involving a passenger vehicle on Crottlestown Road in Franklin County. The collision was reported at approximately 5:16 p.m. in the area of the Twin Bridge Campground in Hamilton Township, a rural stretch of roadway in the part of the county near Chambersburg. Pennsylvania State Police were called to investigate.

Local fire companies and area emergency medical crews were dispatched after dispatchers received reports that an e-bike had struck a vehicle along the roadway. Responding units located one person in the roadway and began emergency medical care at the scene. Because ground ambulance units were responding from opposite ends of Franklin County, the incident commander requested an air medical helicopter to meet crews at the campground and fly the injured rider directly to a regional trauma center for treatment.

Fire crews worked the scene for less than an hour before clearing, though fire police and state troopers remained in the area afterward to continue the investigation and direct traffic around the crash site.
